Jesus Is God Eternal

Should we Worship Jesus

All threw the Bible it is forbidden that anyone should receive Worship except the one true God!  Only God can accept and receive Worship. Note that Nowhere in the Bible does it say that Jesus is an Angel.  It says he is GOD!   Jesus is not Michael the Archangel; He is Jesus, Son of God, the Word of God, the great I AM, the First and the Last!   Angels cannot receive worship!  God forbids it!  Yet, Jesus receives Worship, not only by men, but angels.  Read the Scriptures below!

In Acts 10:25 we see that a man Cornelius fell down at Peter’s feet and tried to Worship him, but Peter stopped him saying Rise, I myself am but a man.  Again, at Revelation 22:7-13 the Apostle John falls at the feet of the angel to worship and the angel says, Be careful! Do not do that, I am a fellow slave also.  Again, at Rev 19:8-13 this happens.

Acts 10:24-26    On the following day he entered Caesarea. Now Cornelius was waiting for them and had called together his relatives and close friends. 25 When Peter entered, Cornelius met him, and fell at his feet and worshiped him. 26  But Peter raised him up, saying, "Stand up; I too am just a man."

Revelation 19: 9-10    Then the angel said to me, "Write: 'Blessed are those who are invited to the wedding supper of the Lamb!' " And he added, "These are the true words of God." 10  At this I fell at his feet to worship him. But he said to me, "Do not do that! I am a fellow servant with you and with your brothers who hold to the testimony of Jesus. Worship God!

Revelation 22:8-9    I, John, am the one who heard and saw these things And when I heard and saw, I fell down to worship at the feet of the angel who showed me these things. 9But he said to me, "Do not do that I am a fellow servant of yours and of your brethren the prophets and of those who heed the words of this book. Worship God."

Two places in the Bible an angel is worshiped! The Worshipers are rebuked, and told, Worship God!  A man is worshiped and he says do not do that!  Worship God!  That gives us one conclusion!  Only God can accept and receive Worship!

Jesus Receives and accepts Worship and no one is Rebuked or stopped

Matthew 2:1-2     The Visit of the Magi

1Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, magi from the east arrived in Jerusalem, saying, 2"Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we saw His star in the east and have come to worship Him."

Matthew 2:11 After coming into the house they saw the Child with Mary His mother; and they fell to the ground and worshiped Him. Then, opening their treasures, they presented to Him gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh.

Matthew 14:29-33 And He said, "Come!" And Peter got out of the boat, and walked on the water and came toward Jesus. 30 But seeing the wind, he became frightened, and beginning to sink, he cried out, "Lord, save me!" 31 Immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and took hold of him, and said to him, "You of little faith, why did you doubt?" 32When they got into the boat, the wind stopped. 33And those who were in the boat worshiped Him, saying, "You are certainly God's Son!"

John 9:32- 38  "Since the beginning of time it has never been heard that anyone opened the eyes of a person born blind. 33"If this man were not from God, He could do nothing." 34 They answered him, "You were born entirely in sins, and are you teaching us?" So they put him out.  35Jesus heard that they had put him out, and finding him, He said, "Do you believe in the Son of Man?" 36 He answered, "Who is He, Lord, that I may believe in Him?" 37Jesus said to him, "You have both seen Him, and He is the one who is talking with you."  38 And he said, "Lord, I believe." And he worshiped Him.

Matthew 28:5-9 The angel said to the women, Do not be afraid; for I know that you are looking for Jesus who has been crucified.  6"He is not here, for He has risen, just as He said. Come, see the place where He was lying.  7"Go quickly and tell His disciples that He has risen from the dead; and behold, He is going ahead of you into Galilee, there you will see Him; behold, I have told you."  8And they left the tomb quickly with fear and great joy and ran to report it to His disciples.  9And behold, Jesus met them and greeted them. And they came up and took hold of His feet and worshiped Him.

Matthew 28: 16-18   But the eleven disciples proceeded to Galilee, to the mountain which Jesus had designated. 17   When they saw Him, they worshiped Him; but some were doubtful. 18And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.

Luke 24:51-53   While he was blessing them, he left them and was taken up into heaven. 52  Then they worshiped him and returned to Jerusalem with great joy.

Note in Hebrews 1…  God the Father is talking to Jesus the Son, saying in verse 8 Your Throne O GOD is Forever and Ever.  God the Father calling Jesus God.  In Verse 5 God the Father says to Jesus, for which of the Angels did God ever say

 ( showing that Jesus is not an angel)  You are my Son…in verse  6 God the Father says,

"AND LET ALL THE ANGELS OF GOD WORSHIP HIM."

Hebrews 1   God's Final Word in His Son

 1God, after He spoke long ago to the fathers in the prophets in many portions and in many ways,  2 in these last days has spoken to us in His Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the world.  3And He is the radiance of His glory and the exact representation of His nature, and upholds all things by the word of His power When He had made purification of sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high, 4having become as much better than the angels, as He has inherited a more excellent name than they.  5 For to which of the angels did God ever say,
         "YOU ARE MY SON,
         TODAY I HAVE BEGOTTEN YOU
"?
         And again,
         "I WILL BE A FATHER TO HIM
         AND HE SHALL BE A SON TO ME"?

 6And when He again brings the firstborn into the world, He says,
         "AND LET ALL THE ANGELS OF GOD WORSHIP HIM."

 7And of the angels He says,
         "WHO MAKES HIS ANGELS WINDS,
         AND HIS MINISTERS A FLAME OF FIRE."

 8But of the Son He says,
         "YOUR THRONE, O GOD, IS FOREVER AND EVER
,
         AND THE RIGHTEOUS SCEPTER IS THE SCEPTER OF HIS KINGDOM.
   9"YOU HAVE LOVED RIGHTEOUSNESS AND HATED LAWLESSNESS;
         THEREFORE GOD, YOUR GOD, HAS ANOINTED YOU
         WITH THE OIL OF GLADNESS ABOVE YOUR COMPANIONS."  10And,
         "YOU, LORD, IN THE BEGINNING LAID THE FOUNDATION OF THE EARTH,
         AND THE HEAVENS ARE THE WORKS OF YOUR HANDS;
    11THEY WILL PERISH, BUT YOU REMAIN;
         AND THEY ALL WILL BECOME OLD LIKE A GARMENT,
    12AND LIKE A MANTLE YOU WILL ROLL THEM UP;
         LIKE A GARMENT THEY WILL ALSO BE CHANGED

 BUT YOU ARE THE SAME,  AND YOUR YEARS WILL NOT COME TO AN END." 13But to which of the angels has He ever said,
         "SIT AT MY RIGHT HAND,
         UNTIL I MAKE YOUR ENEMIES
         A FOOTSTOOL FOR YOUR FEET"?

Scenes in Heaven of Worshiping God

Revelation 1:4   And the twenty-four elders and the four living creatures fell down and worshiped God who sits on the throne saying, "Amen Hallelujah!"  5And a voice came from the throne, saying, Give praise to our God, all you His bond-servants, you who fear Him, the small and the great."

Revelation 5:11-14    Angels Exalt the Lamb

 11Then I looked, and I heard the voice of many angels around the throne and the living creatures and the elders; and the number of them was myriads of myriads, and thousands of thousands, 12saying with a loud voice, "Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power and riches and wisdom and might and honor and glory and blessing." 13And every created thing which is in heaven and on the earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all things in them, I heard saying, "To Him who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb, be blessing and honor and glory and dominion forever and ever" 14And the four living creatures kept saying, "Amen " And the elders fell down and worshiped.

Revelation  9-11  After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no one could count, from every nation and all tribes and peoples and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, and palm branches were in their hands; 10and they cry out with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb." 11And all the angels were standing around the throne and around the elders and the four living creatures; and they fell on their faces before the throne and worshiped God,

Revelation  11: 15-17  Then the seventh angel sounded; and there were loud voices in heaven, saying, "The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of His Christ; and He will reign forever and ever." 16And the twenty-four elders, who sit on their thrones before God, fell on their faces and worshiped God, 17saying, "We give You thanks, O Lord God, the Almighty, who are and who were, because You have taken Your great power and have begun to reign.

Jesus Received Worship

 The authority of God in Jesus is seen in Christ taking upon Himself the right to be worshiped..

 Few subjects are spoken of in Scripture with more clarity than the subject of worship. Both the Old and New Testaments emphasize that God alone should receive worship. Jesus told Satan, You shall worship the Lord your God, and serve Him only' ' (Matthew 4:10; Luke 4:8). No man or angel was ever to receive worship (Matthew 4:10; Revelation 19:20;  22:8, o). God would not give his "glory to another (Isaiah 42-8).

The New Testament uses one word primarily for worship, the Greek word proskuneo. it is the word Jesus used in telling Satan to worship God alone; it is used more than any other word in describing worship of God (John 4:24; Revelation 5:14; 7:11; 11:16; etc.).

After Jesus healed a man, the person exclaimed,  " 'Lord I believe! ' And he worshiped (past tense form of proskuneo) Him "  (John 9:38). The same Greek word is used in Matthew 14:33, when the disciples worshiped Jesus after seeing Him walk on water.  Another time the disciples, seeing Jesus after the resurrection, "came up and took hold of His feet and worshiped him ' (Matthew 28:9). Thus, before and after the resurrection, Jesus received worship In ail of those instances, the same Jesus who had rebuked Satan for tempting Him to worship wrongly did not recoil in horror because ''Only God is to be worshiped.' ' Instead, He received the worship as His due.

In Hebrews 1:6 the angels of God are told to worship (proskuneo) Jesus. In Revelation 5:8-14, a whole section of praise and worship is devoted to Jesus the "Lamb"  and to God. In a powerful passage, Paul stated that at the name of Jesus every knee in heaven and earth will bow (implying worship) and confess that Jesus is Lord (Philippians . The Son of God was worshiped through numerous acts in the New2:10,11) Testament as He became the object of faith, hope,  and adoration.                                                            Quote from Josh McDowell Book chapter 4  http://www.greatcom.org/resources/jesus_and_his_diety/chap04/default.htm

Note that Nowhere in the Bible does it say that Jesus is an Angel.  It says he is GOD!   Jesus is not Michael that Archangel; he is Jesus, Son of God, the Word of God, Creator, the great I AM, the First and the Last!   Angels cannot receive worship!  God forbids it!  Yet, Jesus receives Worship, not only by men, but by all the angels and all those in Heaven.  Jude 9 says the Michael the Archangel would not rebuke or bring Judgment on Satan, Jude 1:9  Yet Michael the archangel, in contending with the devil, when he disputed about the body of Moses, dared not bring against him a reviling accusation, but said, “The Lord rebuke you!” JESUS IS KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS, so who is Michael referring to when he says the Lord rebuke you!

Philippians 2:9-11  Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, 10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, 11 and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.  Why if he had the name Jesus, the name above all names, would he want to share it and be Michael the Archangel?  He is that Lord that will rebuke Satan!

The entire purpose of Jesus coming to earth was to defeat Satan, to gain victory over all death, that he alone can throw Satan into the abyss for eternity.  The plan of redemption was that Jesus would crush Satan’s head, and Satan would bruise his heal in the process.  The one who at Heb 1:3 says .  3 He ( Jesus ) is the radiance of His glory and the exact representation of His nature, and upholds all things by the word of His power !  Jesus is Judge John 5:22-23   "For not even the Father judges anyone, but He has given all judgment to the Son, 23 so that all will honor the Son even as they honor the Father.

John 1:1-3 & 14  The Eternal Word

 1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.    14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.
